Join WE Bike NYC for a fun bike ride through Harlem and over the High Bridge!
About this Event

Built in the mid-19th century, the High Bridge over the Harlem River is New York’s oldest standing bridge. It was built as part of the Croton Aqueduct system to carry water from the Croton River in Westchester to Manhattan. No longer used for that purpose, today it’s a scenic link between Manhattan and the Bronx for cyclists and pedestrians.

WE will meet at 10am at the USS Maine Monument at the Southwest entrance to Central Park (Central Park West and W. 59th St.)

WE will ride through Central Park to Harlem and then on to Washington Heights, where WE will enter High Bridge Park and then ride over the High Bridge to the Bronx. After some beautiful scenery and photo ops, we’ll ride back to Sugar Hill Creamery at 184 Lenox Avenue (between 119th and 120th Streets), where the ride will end and those who would like to can stay and indulge in some delicious ice cream and other treats.

Total mileage: About 10 miles.

Bring: helmet (required), water, lock (if you have one), cash/card for ice cream/snacks.

Note:
This event is for women, female-identifying and gender nonconforming people only.
