About this Event
Join Steve LePointe of 1st Tribal Consulting with this powerful and thought-provoking program that invites participants to deepen their understanding of Native American history, identity, and lived experience—from the foundations of treaty and constitutional rights to the realities faced by Native communities today. Through a Colorado-focused lens, this presentation illuminates both historical context and modern-day challenges, offering insight into issues that are often overlooked or misunderstood.
Grounded in authentic community voices, We Are Still Here brings forward firsthand accounts, family stories, and lived experiences shared directly by Native individuals. These perspectives provide a rare and meaningful opportunity to move beyond textbooks and stereotypes, and instead encounter Native history and presence as living, evolving, and deeply rooted.
Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of Native American citizenship, sovereignty, and resilience, as well as a renewed perspective on how Native communities continue to shape Colorado and the broader world today. This program fosters empathy, awareness, and meaningful connection—equipping audiences to engage with Native communities with greater respect, knowledge, and intention.
We Are Still Here is more than a presentation—it is an invitation to listen, learn, and recognize the enduring presence and strength of Native peoples.
