About this Event
Camden Council and the Safer Business Network (SBN) are delivering free Welfare and Vulnerability Engagement (WAVE) and Ask for Angela training for all those working in a Camden venue.
This essential session equips anyone in a customer-facing role with the skills to spot signs of vulnerability and make safe, effective interventions when it matters most.
Whether you work in hospitality, security, events or customer service in Camden, this interactive session will equip you to:
- Recognise the signs that someone may be at risk or in need of help;
- Understand the simple but powerful “Ask for Angela” initiative;
- Respond quickly, discreetly and confidently when someone reaches out for support;
- Create a safer and more inclusive environment for all.
Delivered in a practical and engaging format, the training blends real-life scenarios with clear guidance that you can apply in your day-to-day role.
All participants receive certification of being WAVE and Ask for Angela trained.Recognise the signs.
BONUS!
As part of the day SBN will also have Safeguarding Training and Awareness in a New Dimension (STAND: UP VR). A first-of-its-kind immersive training experience tackling violence against women and girls and vulnerability in the day and nighttime economy. Using virtual reality, participants step into real-life scenarios to learn bystander intervention and how to spot vulnerability - such as identifying a spiking situation, intervening safely, using Ask for Angela, and responding with confidence to police or security.
