ABOUT THE EVENT
Presented by Allenia Design, Watermarks is a two-day visual literary pop-up exhibition exploring the enduring relationship between water and the places we inhabit.
Drawing from the inaugural edition of the Reflective Urban Essay Series, the exhibition combines moving images, projected landscapes, sound, and written narratives to create an immersive journey through places shaped by water. From the terraces of Cusco to the rivers of Paris, from the dense urban fabric of São Paulo to the evolving landscapes of Minneapolis and beyond, Watermarks examines how waterways influence memory, culture, identity, and the form of place.
Rather than viewing water solely as infrastructure or resource, the exhibition considers it as a living presence—an agent that shapes settlements, connects communities, and leaves lasting traces on the landscapes we inhabit. Moving between the scale of the room, the garden, and the city, Watermarks explores how water influences our daily experience of place.
Part exhibition, part urban reflection, and part design inquiry, Watermarks invites visitors to experience a series of visual essays that reveal the intimate connections between water, memory, and human experience.
