CREATE A STUNNING SET OF 3 HANDPAINTED GREETING CARDS IN THIS SUPER FUN WORKSHOP!
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Whether you’re absolutely new to watercolour painting or are a seasoned artist, drop in to one of our special Christmas workshops where we’ll use bold colour and the magic of expressive watercolour techniques to create a set of 3 stunning take-home ready cards.
Looking for a relaxed way to experience the joy of making? You’ll surprise yourself just how satisfying (and beautiful) painting loosely with watercolour can be!
What to expect:
With step-by-step guidance, we’ll experiment with a variety of colour palettes to turn a gorgeous Christmas-themed beach landscape into a set of stunning cards:
* dive straight into painting with our pre-sketched cards;
* play with bold colour and enjoy the freedom of allowing the water to guide your colour mixes
* learn how expressive wet-on-wet and resist techniques can be.
Designed with fun in mind, get creative this Xmas season and experience the joy of watercolour as play!
Classes are limited to 8 – perfect for that festive season group outing with friends or colleagues!
SUITABLE FOR
Adults & teens of all experience levels.
WHAT TO BRING
All materials are provided.
YOUR TEACHER
Mike Barnard, Illawarra Studios
At Illawarra Studios, we provide innovative art, music and yoga classes with one aim in mind: to encourage discoveries in creative expression and self-nurture that truly resonate!
Designed for adults and teens of all levels, my art classes guide students wanting to enjoy the thrill of learning techniques that support individual creativity. Expressing your vision in a way that speaks to you is an iterative and incredibly satisfying process - it relies on developing confidence in connecting heart to eye to hand - and with the right guidance this process can start wherever you need it to start!
I proudly live and work on Dharawal country. An Archibald Prize finalist with degrees in Master of Art & Masters of Fine Art (UNSW), I have over 15 years’ experience developing fun, innovative studio art programs across a range of public education settings, including the Art Gallery of NSW (Contempo) and the University of NSW (Art&Design).
