About this Event
Explore the wildlife world in watercolour! Weather you are an absolute beginner or a seasoned artist, join this in-person workshop to learn and develop watercolour techniques. Fun, relaxed and sociable with tea and cake at Trove cafe included, this 3 hour workshop starting at 2pm (including breaks) will help you unlock your creativity, capture the natural world and connect with others.
This workshop will focus on creating a A4 watercolour on paper piece with an animal silhouette within a nature scene. You will learn how to use paint layering techniques and leaf printing to capture the habitat your chosen animal sillouhette lives in.
What to expect on the day:
- Materials provided
- The introduction to the class will include painting paw prints as a warm up where we will begin with an overview of basic watercolour techniques on paper. We will talk about creating texture, mixing colour and building tones as well as painting details.
- We will be printing with leaves!
- Each participant will choose an animal to paint a silhouette and a habitat scene similar to the one in the photo attached.
- Come away with a beautiful piece showcasing your chosen wild animal in nature.
- Anna Kenny will be leading the class and will be available to answer questions and support your creative process.
- Hot drinks and cake included
Leaves for printing will be provided - but if you find some leaves which you particularly love the shape and texture of please bring them!
Please leave plenty of time to find parking.
About the artist:
Originally from Northern Ireland, Anna now works in Dorset as a conservationist, photographer and artist. Her business, One Planet Wonder aims to use imagery and creative means to encourage people to explore, value and protect the beautiful nature around them.

*11-17 year olds are welcome but MUST be accompanied at all times by a responsible adults.
*ACCESSIBILITY - The workshop is accessed by a staircase. You must be able to walk up and down stairs to join this workshop.
