Saturday, September 19th 2026, 1 – 5 pm at Alemany Farm
Instructor: Brett Stephens
Come out and learn about aquatic plants and water management and help with our Fall pond maintenance. Learn about pond ecology and support habitat restoration for the red wing black bird, tule reeds, and more. The pond work day will include a discussion on pond ecology, the importance of water sources on organic farms, strategies for management and creating plant and animal diversity. Bring your hip waders or rain boots, if you have them (a few will be provided), gloves, snacks, and join us in getting your hands wet!
Brett Stephens is owner/project manager of San Francisco Landscapes. He is certified in permaculture design, a Bay-Friendly professional, ARCSA accredited professional, and a long-time volunteer at Alemany Farm.
Accessibility Information: Alemany Farm is not ADA accessible at this time. This workshop will be held outdoors on uneven surfaces and a sloping pond bank - with the opportunity to wade in the pond. This workshop does require some amount of physical work and we will strive to find ways to involve everyone who wants to be part of this experience. The bathrooms are accessible only by stairway. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Suggested Donation: $5-$15, No one turned away for lack of funds. Our workshops are donation-based and support the farm. Please give at the suggested level or higher if you are able.
