Water Adventure One Day Camp
The morning begins at the koi pond, where campers learn about koi fish and aquatic plants. From there the group heads to the north shore for catch-and-release fishing, then uses nets to search for tadpoles, frogs, and turtles throughout the garden water spots. The adventure continues with a wading exploration of a small stream across the street, where campers observe stream creatures up close. The camp wraps up with optional swimming at Lions Beach.
All equipment is provided including fishing poles and dipnets. Campers may bring their own fishing pole if they have one.
Each child must be accompanied by an adult who is willing and able to wade into ponds, lakes, and streams up to knee deep.
Accompanying adults are free.
What to wear to camp (children and adults):
Lace-up, Velcro, or strap-on shoes — no flip flops, Crocs, or slip-ons (they get sucked off in mud!)
Swim trunks, athletic shorts, or cutoffs — quick-drying fabric preferred
An old t-shirt or cutoff sweatshirt
Bring a large dark-colored towel for cleanup
All items must be worn upon arrival. Please mark all personal equipment with your name. No walk-ins — advance registration required.
