About this Event
WAR ON THE ROCKIES
The Struggle to Protect Alberta’s Eastern Slopes
War on the Rockies is a 20-minute documentary film showcasing the rising resistance to the expanding extractive and industrial takeover of Alberta’s Eastern Slopes of the Rocky Mountains.
Told through the voices of everyday Albertans, land defenders, community members, water protectors, and concerned citizens, the film explores what is at stake in the headwaters of the Bow, Oldman, Red Deer, and North Saskatchewan River systems, and why people from across the province are stepping forward to defend them.
This event is more than a film screening. It is a Defenders of the Eastern Slopes gathering, bringing together art, storytelling, discussion, and opportunities to plug into ongoing efforts to protect and restore Alberta’s headwaters.
This event is free to attend. Donations are optional and help sustain grassroots organizing and future screenings.
