Ever wondered what it would have been like to be a militiaman in the Illinois Territory during the War of 1812? Come to the War of 1812 Militia summer camp at the 1820 Colonel Benjamin Stephenson House and experience life during a time of war in our own backyards. Activities included learning about camp life, drilling, posting colors, cooking, and much more. A variety of fun activities are planned to take place during this exciting three-day camp.
Militia Camp will run July 16-18 from 9 am – 2 pm. Open to children entering grades 5th-7th. Space is limited to 12 participants. A $110 registration fee is required and includes all supplies and snacks. Participants should bring a sack lunch. Payment is due at the time of registration to ensure placement in the camp.
