Walking Through History: Discovering the Former Forest Hill Estate
About this Event
In 1873, John D. Rockefeller, the richest man in the world at the time, built a "water cure" spa alongside investment partners on land in East Cleveland. That venture failed, and Rockefeller decided to turn the facility into his summer residence called "Forest Hill." City of Cleveland Heights Landmark Commissioners Jim Nemastil and Dani Cohen will be providing a tour of the former estate which is now Forest Hill Park. Locations of his mansion, horse stables, horse track, quarry, golf course, and numerous trails will be identified. Wear your hiking shoes for this illuminating tour of this great Northeast Ohio historic site. Part of the city’s America250 event series.
