The Steps of Hope Iowa family is walking in the Iowa State Fair parade again this year! The parade is Aug 12, and the route is 1.5 miles long. staging times and details to follow once we have them.
One ask... please wear a purple Steps of Hope shirt. If you want to purchase one, let me know. 💜
The purple jeep will be pulling the Steps of Hope trailer, with or beautful people. All are welcome to carry a pic of their person. We will have yard signs with powerful messages that folks are welcome to carry. We will be seen! No more shame! No more stigma! Every life is worth saving!!
Every year has been an experience. It comes with emotion for all. We saw people taking pics, clapping and folks wiping tears from their eyes as we walk by. We do this for awareness. We do this so that others know that they are not alone and there is Hope! We do this to crush the stigma associated with SUD. We do this to honor amazing people, gone too soon. We do this so people understand that SUD does not discriminate! Every overdose is somebody's son or daughter! They mattered then. They still matter! Enough is enough!
