It is a sobering thought that in the late 1800s between 40% and 50% of all children died before their 10th birthday. The primary cause of death was usually a well documented disease, poor living conditions or dire sanitation. But, there were other causes too.
This new walk, led by Dennis Shaw, visits 16 children who didn’t reach their teenage years. They all died for reasons other than illness, often in sad and tragic circumstances.
This is a ticketed walk.
Tickets are £5 for adults (children free) and can be bought from the Cemetery Office or by emailing [email protected]
Meet at the Harriet Centre at 6.45pm to be given an audio kit to use (works with your own, standard jack, headphones if you prefer).
The walk will be approximately 1 hr and 30 mins. This is an outside and evening event so please dress accordingly.
-----
As with all events, please be aware that no pets (except assistance dogs) are allowed in the cemetery grounds. This is for the comfort and welfare of all our users.
