Walk for Wellness House

The annual Walk for Wellness House will take place on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at the Home of Hope in Hinsdale, bringing together cancer survivors, their families, friends, sponsors, and volunteers to help ensure no one faces cancer alone.

This year’s Walk co-chairs and Board Members, Julie Thick and Thomas Cranmar, are leading the charge to raise funds to provide free cancer support to individuals and families who benefit from Wellness House services. For participants Maria and Filepe , Wellness House became a sanctuary where they could breathe, learn, and connect. They immersed themselves in cooking classes, exercise programs, meditation, and support groups. “We’ve been given so much knowledge and love here,” Maria shares. “We learn how to live better, eat better, and make informed, educated decisions about my treatment.”

The annual Walk helps support more than 48,446 visits a year in the areas of nutrition, exercise, stress management, support groups and counseling, information and education, and child and family support. With programs held at the Home of Hope in Hinsdale and through 30 partner collaborations across Chicagoland, Wellness House serves nearly 4,000 people each year.

Kicking off at 8:00 a.m., this family-friendly event features an inspiring program, fun activities for kids, and fosters a strong sense of community. The event’s 3K Walk / 5K Run winds through the streets of northeast Hinsdale. Participants may also choose to 'Walk Your Way'—an option that allows for flexible participation at a time and location that best fits their schedule.
