Fireworks, food trucks, live entertainment, children’s activities, and more await you at Wake Forest’s 2026 Independence Day Celebration! Presented by Capital Chevrolet, this year’s celebration marks the 53rd anniversary of our community’s most popular summertime event promising two days’ worth of free fun and excitement for the entire family. The Fireworks Spectacular takes place on July 3 followed by the Children’s Parade and Art & More in the Park on July 4.
FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR
The festivities get underway Friday, July 3, with the Fireworks Spectacular inside Husky Stadium on the campus of Heritage High School, 1150 Forestville Road.
Admission is free. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., and the program begins at 6 p.m. The fireworks show will begin at around 9:30 p.m.
Featuring headliner band, The Swingin' Medallions, food trucks, an incredible fireworks show, roaming entertainment and more, the annual Fireworks Spectacular draws well over 15,000 attendees each year.
Veterans in attendance at this year’s event will be invited to assemble in front of the stage and lead the Pledge of Allegiance during the intermission portion of this year’s program which typically begins at 7:30 p.m. Intermission will also feature a soloist, selected by the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Advisory Board following an open call, performing the National Anthem.
Please note: No firearms, glass, alcohol, pets, smoking, tents, stakes, or shade structures are allowed on the school campus.
Our 2026 Independence Day Celebration will consist of the following events and activities:
Fireworks Spectacular
Friday, July 3; Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

The fireworks show will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Children's Parade
Hosted by the Wake Forest Community Partners
Saturday, July 4; line-up begins at 10 a.m.; parade starts at 10:30 a.m.
Intersection of North Main Street and West Juniper Avenue, near the Wake Forest Historical Museum, 414 N. Main St.
Art & More in the Park
Hosted by the Wake Forest Woman's Club & Wake Forest Fire Department
Saturday, July 4; 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
