The World Affairs Council of New Orleans (WACNO) invites you to the premiere of the documentary “Transplanted Roots.” DATE: February 23, 2026 | TIME: 5:00 - 7:00 pm
LOCATION: The Broad Theater, 636 N Broad St., New Orleans, LA 70119
The screening will take place on February 23, 2026, one day before the anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022.
This deeply human film shares the personal testimonies and lived experiences of Ukrainian refugees who have rebuilt their lives in Louisiana after being forced from their homes by war. Through intimate storytelling, the documentary explores themes of displacement, resilience, and the challenges of rebuilding life far from home, offering a powerful and personal perspective on the human consequences of war.
After the screening, stay for a discussion with the director and the protagonists, followed by an audience Q&A.
WACNO is offering this screening at the theater free and open to the public.
