Volunteer With The Youth Fishing League

Join us for a powerful community experience with the Youth Fishing League in partnership with Blacks of the Chesapeake Foundation, Inc.

This is more than volunteering. This is about creating moments that families will remember for a lifetime.

The Youth Fishing League is building something special by introducing youth and families to fishing, outdoor wellness, and community connection in a fun, welcoming, and impactful way. Every cast, every catch, and every smile matters.

When you volunteer with us, you become part of that experience.

Date: Wednesday, April 1, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Location: Allen Pond Park, Bowie, Maryland

• Arrive at your designated volunteer time ready to support
• Assist with setup and breakdown of tents, tables, and chairs
• Support event cleanup and maintain the space
• Help serve food to participants
• Assist youth and families with baiting hooks, handling fish, and learning the basics of fishing
• Support check-in and other event needs as directed by program staff

You are helping:

• Build confidence in young people
• Create safe outdoor experiences for families
• Teach life skills through fishing
• Strengthen community connections
