Volunteer Training: Small Business Visits
About this Event
Help strengthen Greater Longfellow's small business community!
Join Redesign for a volunteer training to learn how you can support local businesses through our Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) Initiative.
The BRE Initiative helps us better understand the needs, challenges, and opportunities facing local businesses. As a volunteer, you'll help by visiting businesses and conducting brief, guided surveys with business owners. The information gathered helps Redesign and our partners develop programs, technical assistance, funding opportunities, and other resources that help businesses succeed.
No previous experience is necessar. We'll provide all the training, materials, and support you need.
During this training, you'll learn:
- What the Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) Initiative is
- Why business outreach matters
- How to conduct a business survey
- Tips for having successful conversations with business owners
- What to expect during business visits
- How your volunteer efforts will help strengthen our local economy
Volunteer Commitment
Volunteer opportunities are available August through November.
The commitment is completely flexible:
- Volunteer for one business visit or several.

Every conversation helps us better understand and support our local business community.
