City of Calgary Parks & Open Spaces is hosting a volunteer W**d pull in Douglasbank Park as part of our new Natural Areas Volunteer Program.
About this Event

We will be removing invasive weeds in the natural areas in Douglasbank Park to help restore native habitat. This is just one step in the overall Douglasdale habitat mangement plan.

Here are some important things to know for this event:

  • Closed toe shoes are mandatory
  • Long pants recommended
  • City of Calgary Parks & Open Spaces will provide all necessary equipment, including safety vests, gloves, pruners and bags.
  • Please make sure to arrive by 9:30am as staff will provide a safety talk and task demonstration at the start of they project. Then there is a short walk into the park where we will be working.
  • We will have bottled water for everyone but please bring any additional drinks or snacks you would like to have.
  • We will be either pulling or cutting invasive weeks in the natural area in the park.
  • All ages are allowed but youth under 12 must have a parent or guardian present and any youth 12 and over need to have a minor waiver signed on site .
  • There will be a sign up form on site for adults to register
