Come discover the riparian areas of the Weaselhead and see how native plants thrive along our waterways
About this Event

We will start at the main entrance and hike through the riparian zone, observing how native plant communities adapt to changing conditions and how some plants establish quickly in open areas. Along the way, you’ll see patches of invasive plants and learn about the work of our Invasive Plant Program, and the methods we use to control invasive plants near the river.

As we make our way along the trails, you’ll notice how plant communities shift between forest, meadow, and riparian areas, and we’ll discuss ways we can all support thriving habitats.

The hike will be about 5 km in length, on mixed and uneven trails, and will take approximately 2.5 hours.

Please wear proper footwear and be prepared to be outside for the full duration.

This hike is geared towards adults. Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
