About this Event
Join Let’s Go 1-2-3 and Lancaster County Environmental Center to learn by doing, caring for nature and our planet. Learn about the Lancaster County Environmental Center and help us manage an area of weedy and invasive plants impacting the native landscape around the center and Shuts library. Parking is easily available at the center.
Together we will:
- Listen to a brief history of the Lancaster County Environmental Center & Shuts Library
- Learn native and nonnative plant identification and benefits to wildlife
- Work in pairs to manage common weeds and invasive species impacting the native plantings around the center and library
What to bring: (we will have extras)
- water bottle
- weeding tool (soil knife, asparagus knife, hand trowel)
- shovel
- gloves
- a smile (required)
Please note: Extra gloves, PPE supplies, 5-gallon buckets, and bags for collecting weeds and debris will be onsite. Volunteers are encouraged to dress for weather and wear protective shoes.
