Volunteer at the Red Shoe 5K Run & Walk!

Join us at National Harbor for the Ronald McDonald House Red Shoe 5K Run & Walk and help make race day an incredible experience for our runners, families, and community.

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support the event from start to finish. Whether you’re volunteering on your own, with friends and family, or as part of a school, company, or community group, there’s a role for everyone. No age requirement!

Volunteer Time: 7:00 AM–12:00 PM
Location: National Harbor, Maryland

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers may be assigned to a variety of roles based on event needs, including:

• Registration & Check-In: Welcome runners and help them get ready for race day.
• Water & Snack Stations: Hand out drinks and snacks to runners along the course and at the finish line.
• Cheer Stations: Bring the energy and encourage runners, walkers, and families along the route.
• Course Marshals: Help direct participants and keep runners safely on course.
• Set-Up & Event Support: Help prepare the event area, organize supplies, and make sure everything is ready before the race begins.
• Family & VIP Support: Welcome Ronald McDonald House families, special guests, and VIPs and help them navigate the event.
• Start & Finish Line Support: Celebrate participants as they begin and complete the Red Shoe 5K.
• General Event Support: Jump in wherever an extra set of hands is needed throughout the morning.

No special experience is required. We’ll provide volunteers with instructions and role assignments before race day. Submit your Eventbrite ticket OR sign-up directly here:

Groups Are Welcome

This is a great opportunity for companies, schools, student organizations, fraternities and sororities, clubs, community organizations, families, and groups of friends looking to volunteer together. Students who need community service hours are also encouraged to participate.
