Get ready to serve, spike, and support a life-saving mission! We invite you to the inaugural "Volleyball for a Cure" tournament, a full day of action on the sand, all for the purpose of raising critical funds for cancer research.
Our "Why" and the Pelotonia Connection:
We lost our Dad in 2017 from stage 4 kidney cancer. Every year, my family and I commit to a grueling 100-mile bike ride. We train for months and push our bodies to the limit. We do this as part of Pelotonia, a grassroots movement with one simple goal: to end cancer. The physical pain of the ride is a conscious choice, a way to show solidarity and raise money to fight a disease that causes real, involuntary pain for so many.
This year, we wanted to expand our fundraising efforts beyond the bike. We wanted to create an event where our community could come together, have fun, and make an even bigger impact. That’s why we are hosting this sand volleyball tournament at Miami Valley Sand in Dayton. The energy of this sport and the commitment of our community are the perfect fit for the fight against cancer.
What to Expect:
Tournament Action: We are hosting a competitive yet fun-focused tournament on the beautiful sand courts of Miami Valley Sand. (4v4 co-ed Register now!)
The Raffle & Gift Baskets: We have been working hard with local businesses and donors to curate an incredible selection of raffles. Come prepared to win! We have multiple, highly curated gift baskets and major individual items up for grabs.
100% Impact: The core principle of Pelotonia—and this tournament—is that 100% of all proceeds are donated directly to cancer research. We cover the costs through sponsorships and volunteer efforts to ensure every dollar you spend or donate goes straight to the brilliant minds working on breakthroughs at the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.
