About this Event
GentleWays for OurPlanet invites you to join us for an evening of shared stories and practical reflections on how care for the Planet can become action. This gathering --our first-- brings together voices from our community; people who, in different ways, are living their values and contributing to a more sustainable world.
You will hear from:
- Caroline Ruriko Ishii, chef and author, on plant-based, earth-friendly cooking
- Mélanie Ouellette, Founder and Chair of the Ottawa Wildflower Seed Library, on grassroots approaches to responsible gardening
- Jeff Leiper, City Councillor for Kitchissippi Ward, on a personal journey toward a near zero-waste lifestyle
- A community member sharing their experience supporting GentleWays
- Dr Aïda Warah, founder of GentleWays, reflecting on the work and its intentions
There will be space to listen, connect, and exchange in a spirit of curiosity. We also hope to hear your voice!
Raffle tickets will be sold! You could win any of the gift baskets and certificates donated by local businesses:
- Bridgehead (96 Sparks St.)
- Lee Valley
Date: May 29
Time: 5:00–7:00 pm
General Admission: by donation (includes a generous plant-based buffet and non-alcoholic beverages)
Location: Sandy Hill Community Centre
Parking: Free on-site
