About this Event
Have you ever rested near a tree with nowhere else to be? No agenda, no effort? Does that sound like a bit of bliss?
You know that being outdoors among the trees feels great, and there's tons of scientific evidence about all the benefits. But you struggle to make the time for it in your life.
This is for you.
A sit spot is a place outdoors where you return regularly, simply to sit and be. A Sit Spot practice builds a habit of nature connection. And that's good for your body, mind and spirit. And good for the planet.
We’re offering a place, a regular time, a circle of kindred spirits., and some gentle instruction from experienced Forest Therapy Guides, who are volunteering for this program.
No cost. No experience needed.
Check it out during our six-week pilot program. Meet us at Building 72 in the Arboretum, a few minutes before 9 am. We need you to review the Participant Agreement before your first session, and we'll need a way to to contact you if we have to cancel because of weather, so pop on to the registration page to receive last-minute details and provide your contact info .

Info: We'll gather in an opening circle at 9am, for intros and instructions. A Guide will lead a "sensory-shifting" practice, and then everyone will wander to find your personal spot where you'll sit and simply notice and be, for 20-25 minutes. Then we'll make our way back to the closing circle and we'll wrap up at 10am.
