About this Event
Genspace is the world’s first community biology lab — a place where people of all backgrounds can learn, create, and grow with the life sciences.
Our mission is to foster a safe and inclusive community where all people – including those from non-traditional and underrepresented backgrounds – can experientially learn, boldly create, and meaningfully grow with the life sciences.
As scientists, learners, educators, and neighbors in an immigrant-rich neighborhood, we believe civic participation is an important part of public life. Join us at the lab on Sunday, February 1, for an open space to contact your elected representatives by phone, email, or written letter.
This gathering is intended to support individual expression and civic engagement on issues that matter to you—whether related to science, education, immigration, or other concerns shaping your community today. Attendees are welcome to use tools such as 5 Calls, Resistbot, or Common Cause, or to reach out to representatives using their own preferred methods. Stamps, envelopes, and computers will be available.
The goal of this event is to provide space, tools, and community for people looking to engage thoughtfully during a complex and challenging political moment.
COVID-19 Safety Notice:
If you are feeling unwell, suspect that you have been exposed to COVID-19 or have tested positive in the past 7 days, please do not attend and cancel your RSVP as soon as possible.
