As we celebrate the Village of Oxford’s 150th Anniversary and the United States' 250th, we are coming together at the Centennial Park Gazebo to add our voices to a national chorus. This isn't just a reading; it’s a moment of community reflection and national unity. Communities ALL across America will be reading the Declaration of Independence at 6 PM - join this quick event to be part of history! What to Expect:
5:45 PM: Welcome and opening remarks. We’ll distribute simplified program sheets with the text so you can follow along.
5:55 PM: A community Pledge of Allegiance.
6:00 PM Sharp: The main event! Watch and listen as local students, veterans, and business owners lead us through the document in real-time with the rest of the nation.
6:15 PM: A final "Happy 250th!" shout and a sneak peek at the Time Capsule unveiling happening the very next day!
We will have a limited number of Pocket Constitutions for attendees to take home! Gather your neighbors, bring a lawn chair, and let’s make sure Oxford is heard across the country.
