What you’ll do
Take part in a voguing workshop about the history of ballroom dance and voguing, where you'll be able try out some moves for yourself. The workshop is facilitated by artist Bambi Jordan Phillips.
The workshop is part of a day of events exploring trans+ contributions in healthcare and social justice. Our programme of events, developed with members of the trans+ community, celebrates trans+ activism and culture, past and present.
About your workshop facilitator
Bambi Jordan Phillips is a producer, movement artist, model and DJ interested in driving social change through artistic work. Bambi is a cornerstone of the London ballroom scene, She is Mother of the Kiki House of Laveaux and a an advocate, mentor and authority for the community. Bambi believes voguing has a direct connection to embodied trans-ancestry. She creates work that explores identity and the deconstruction of learned ideas of gender, sexuality, desire and race.
Need to know
The voguing workshop takes place in the Forum on level 1.
This is a relaxed event. You are welcome to move freely around the space. You can leave and re-enter whenever you wish, and you can make noise at any time.
This event will have British Sign Language interpretation.
