About this Event
Join us as Voices of the River of Grass takes over Vizaya Village. Don’t miss this meaningful gathering celebrating, remembering, and honoring Indigenous voices and traditions.
To kick off the night, an opening and closing ceremony will be led by Tonalxochitil Comunidad de Danza Azteca and Conchera, adding to the spiritual and cultural richness of the experience.
We are proud to present a special video interview with renowned traditional Indian artist Leroy Osceola, who is a direct descendant of Seminloe Chief Osceola, alongside a display of distinctive artistry by Miccosukee and Seminole artisans. Set against the backdrop of Vizcaya’s beautiful Village area, the evening promises a deep and immersive cultural experience.
The event will also include "Threads of Our Past and Future", a fashion show spotlighting 4 designs by Indigenous designer Krystle Billie , as well as our annual Silenced Lives Exhibit, which honors Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP).
