About this Event

Due to the strong interest, we are pleased to offer an additional Visual Storytelling workshop with Adele Schmidt on Tuesday, August 25, at 7:00 PM. Space is limited, so we encourage you to register in advance to secure your spot.

Tuesday, June 25, 2026 | 7:00 - 9:00pm | In person at Docs In Progress

Visual Storytelling in Documentary Filmmaking:

Take your documentary filmmaking to the next level by strengthening your visual storytelling skills. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to create a narrative without words, to write in images and shift from simply covering action to truly seeing.

Designed for documentary filmmakers who want to move beyond talking heads, this session will help you develop a richer, more cinematic visual language. We’ll explore the concept of a scene in a documentary context and break down how compelling scenes are built, through action, detail, and visual continuity.
