Join us on Thursday 5 November for a special Community Corner event centred around remembrance, reflection and creativity.

Community Corner is a service run by the NHS, aiming to combat social isolation and help people live well within their communities. We run activities to promote health and wellbeing every Tuesday at Earl’s Court and every Thursday at Violet Melchett.

This November, join us for an afternoon exploring the history and heritage of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, home of the Chelsea Pensioners. We will visit the Royal Hospital Chelsea Museum, followed by a creative drawing and poetry-reading session inspired by the theme of remembrance. This will be an opportunity to reflect, share memories, express ourselves creatively and connect with others in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Timetable:

• 14:00: Event starts at Violet Melchett, 30 Flood Walk, SW3 5RR. Tea and refreshments will be served on arrival.
• 14:15: We will make our way towards the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
• 14:30: Visit to the Royal Hospital Chelsea Museum, exploring its history and connections to remembrance.
• 15:00: Remembrance-themed drawing activity and poetry reading, offering a chance to reflect, share thoughts and express memories through art and words.
• 16:00: Activity comes to an end.

This event is ideal for anyone who would like to:

No previous artistic experience is needed - just come along and take part at your own pace.

The Community Corner team puts a lot of effort into organising these events alongside running a busy drop-in service. Whilst these events are free to attend, they are not free to run!
