The Des Moines Historical Society will have an information table at the Heritage Carousel Opening Day in Union Park on Saturday, May 23, 2026.If you are planning to attend the Opening Day festivities, we invite you to stop by our table between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to say hello, learn more about local history, and hear about upcoming programs and events.
Opening Day activities take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and include live music from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
We appreciate the opportunity to participate in this community celebration and connect with others who enjoy learning about the history and heritage of Des Moines.
