Join us as we soak in the last bit of autumn color and watch the final leaves drift from the trees on Mt. Penn. We’ll begin our hike at the Antietam Lake parking lot and journey along trails lined with stone ruins, winding our way up to the historic William Penn Memorial Fire Tower. At the top, we’ll pause at the overlook to take in sweeping views of the city of Reading.
To warm up and ground ourselves in the chill of late November, we’ll sip Reishi hot chocolate crafted by Wood Song Mushrooms, a woman-owned small business. While we enjoy this cozy treat, we’ll explore the health benefits of mushroom beverages and reflect on the balance between nature’s slowing rhythms and our own wellness practices. We provide the hot chocolate, you bring your favorite hot-beverage cup or thermos.
Along the way, you’ll learn about the trees surrounding us, the fascinating processes of leaf decay and renewal, and hear a short historical anecdote about the stone walls that line Skyline Drive.
Step into the quiet beauty of late fall, connect with nature, and enjoy community over a cup of mushroom hot chocolate.
