Please join PETA in popping champagne corks to celebrate the closure of Lowenthal Outwear and Boutique, a well-known fur store that’s been in business for decades, profiting from the skins of sentient beings. After years of relentless pressure from PETA and tireless dedication of grassroots activists, the furrier is closing its doors and driving the message home that fur is DEAD and represents the nightmarish suffering and terrifying death of sensitive minks, foxes, rabbits, and chinchillas and this long-overdue shutdown marks a monumental triumph for countless animals.
Every year, millions of animals are confined to cramped, filthy cages before being beaten, electrocuted, and even skinned alive in order to produce fur coats, collars, and cuffs. Conscious consumers today know that the fur industry electrocutes, gasses, poisons, or breaks the necks of millions of animals every year before peeling their skin from their bodies—sometimes while they're still alive and struggling. It does not matter if it's a full-length fur coat or a jacket lined with a small bit of fur trim – every purchase of fur supports an industry that tortures and kills animals.

We have a required dress code! Please dress sharply in a PETA T-shirt, nice pants, and close-toed shoes. We must ensure that the focus remains on the animals without any distractions that could shift people’s attention. T-shirts will be available on-site for everyone.
All materials (such as posters and leaflets) will be provided.
Please refrain from bringing dogs as there may not be shade or a safe place for them to lie down during the protest.
Outreach events are a fun and effective way to help animals as well as meet local advocates, so be sure to invite others!
