Virginia Beach SPCA Behind-the-Scenes Shelter Tours

The Virginia Beach SPCA offers tours of the shelter to youth groups. Tours include a general overview of the organization as well as focused information on the cattery, kennel, and small animals we care for and have available for adoption. Tours also provide information on how youth can be involved with and support the organization.

The first 30 minutes will be spent with an educational tour throughout the inside and outside (weather permitting) of the shelter. The remaining 15 minutes will be spent with your VBSPCA host and an adoptable animal, and learning about that VBSPCA animal. All youth participants will receive a goodie bag after saying goodbye to our animal friend.

Youth Group Shelter Tours are available to group totals of 20 or less participants including chaperones. Youth participants need to be ages 5 years of age and older. Chaperones need to be 18 years of age and older. Tours are available on various Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:00pm-4:45pm or 5:00pm-5:45pm. All tours need to be booked 10 days in advance. All participants need to have a Permission Waiver and Photography Waiver signed by their legal parent/guardian which is sent to the organizer in an email shortly after purchase. Please have them printed and signed to bring in on the day of the scheduled tour date.

The Youth Group Shelter Tour ticket for $65 includes up to 10 participants/chaperones. Up to 10 additional guests can be added during the registration process of this ticket purchase. Each additional guest is $4.00 and is not due upon ticket purchase. Additional guests will be paid upon arrival on the date of the Youth Group Shelter Tour at the VBSPCA front desk.

VBSPCA Compassion Patches are available for GSCCC. Each patch is $5.00 and can be purchased at the front desk the day of the Youth Group Shelter Tour.

Upon reservation, tours can be customized for each Award/Badge for the following:

• Cadette (Animal Helper)
• Junior (Animal Habitats)
• Senior (Voice for Animals)
