VIP Tequila & Mezcal Tasting Experience - Friday, September 25, 2026

Select this VIP experience before the main Stroll, from 5-6pm at Dragon Rouge.

Limited to 50 attendees, this exclusive session will be an immersive sensory journey through the rich heritage and diverse flavors of Mexico’s finest agave spirits. Whether you are a curious beginner or a seasoned connoisseur, this exclusive tasting event will deepen your appreciation for the artistry behind artisanally crafted tequila and mezcal. Guided by Susan Coss, a mezcal educator and advocate, you will explore the distinct differences between tequila and its smoky cousin, mezcal. Learn about the traditional harvesting of agave plants, the impact of regional terroir on flavor profiles, and the intricate distillation processes that shape each unique spirit.

This $85 ticket includes a seated VIP program (from 5:15-6pm), a collectible tasting glass, premium artisanally tequila & mezcal tastings at unique downtown locations, delicious bites at some host locations prepared by local chefs and a commemorative guide. Tickets are limited, the price increases to $95 after September 20th, if not sold out.

After the VIP session join the Tequila & Mezcal Stroll (6:00-9:00pm) and walk around downtown Alameda to sample tequilas from local and artisanal brands.

VIP Check-in & Program: Check-in at Dragon Rouge starts at 4:45pm, programming begins at 5:15pm. Check-in closes at 6:30pm.

Tequila & Mezcal Stroll: 6:00-9:00pm - After the VIP experience, choose your own route for visiting the downtown tasting locations.

Explore Downtown Alameda: Come early to browse the local shops or stay late to sit back and relax at a downtown restaurant or bar.

Bottle Sales: Found a new favorite? Select tequilas will be available for purchase at CRAFT Beer & Wine -- Alameda’s premium bottle shop specializing in European wines, barrel-aged beers, and spirits.

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BE 21 AND OVER WITH VALID ID.

This is a fundraiser event. Your ticket purchase helps keep Downtown Alameda clean, green, and safe for all to enjoy. Additionally, we're pleased to partner with the Alameda Education Foundation for the Tequila & Mezcal Stroll. The helps support educational opportunities, innovation and equity in Alameda public schools. $1 from every ticket sold will go to support their vital work in our community.
