About the Speaker
Dr. Thaddeus W. Jones, Jr. | Owner
Fanatik Productions, LLC
I love telling stories – the scarier the better.
I’m Dr. Thaddeus W. Jones Jr., filmmaker, writer, director, instructor and storyteller. Mad doctor when it comes to horror films.
I’ve made my talent my passion and my career – filmmaking.
I began my career editing self-published books and converting other authors' self-published works into screenplays. A forever student, I needed to learn as much as I could before advancing to ownership of my production company, Fanatik Productions, LLC. We’ve produced several award-winning short films.
Giving back and introducing the power of storytelling to rural communities is just as important to me.
As a member of the Hampton Friends Arts, I recently created a summer camp to help middle and high school age children embrace storytelling in rural communities. Filmmaking allows others to bring their visions to the screen, giving a voice to unnoticed areas.
I am active in both the film and business communities. The business of multimedia is an important area often overlooked. I participate in 1 Million Cups and SC Inventor Forum, and was formerly the director of programming for the Nickelodeon Theater.
Go Gamecocks! In 2010, I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in media arts. In 2013, I earned my MFA in creative writing, and in 2014, a Master of Science in business from Full Sail University. I completed my PH.D in business in 2020 from Northcentral University.
I reside in Columbia, South Carolina, with my amazing wife and three children, but have traveled the United States learning and experiencing the vast melting pot that is our country.
