A public conversation with Michael Stipe will be hosted by Dr. Mark Smith, Director of the Institute for Southern Studies. This event is free and open to the public, but tickets must be reserved.
This is a conversation, not a concert. No music will be performed.
Michael Stipe is an artist, producer, and singer/songwriter. He attended the University of Georgia in Athens, where he became involved with the local music scene. He fronted the band R.E.M. for 31 years, selling over 100 million records and touring the world.
