Video Game Amateurs Presents: Women in Gaming

Join us on Saturday, March 28th at Bibliotheque NYC in SoHo for a celebration of women shaping gaming culture, community, and creativity. This special event brings together gamers, creators, DJs, artists, and community leaders for a night of conversation, competition, and connection.

Throughout the evening, attendees can enjoy a Mario Kart World tournament on the Nintendo Switch 2, open freeplay gaming setups, and a lively program of activities highlighting women across gaming and digital culture. Whether you're here to compete, learn, or just hang out, this event is designed to celebrate the growing impact of women across the gaming world.

Our featured panel discussion, moderated by Alany (Aly), will spotlight women building communities and creative spaces across gaming culture. Panelists include Power 105.1's and VGA's own DJ Steph Cakes, Melanie of The Bladerverse, Honey from NYC Tamagotchi Club, and additional guests from the gaming and creative community.

The night will also feature live sets from DJ Kaity F Baby, DJ SailorGoon, and DJ La Phiesa, bringing high-energy sounds to keep the celebration going throughout the evening.

Guests can explore interactive stations and community activations including:

• Express nail station hosted by Senia
• Flower Party Photo Pop-Up by Project Marcy
• Beyblade setups and community play with Aloemela of The Bladerverse
• Cosplay meetup and contest hosted by JoyKawaiiWorld

In addition, local creators and vendors such as GoneWithTheStitches and others will be onsite sharing products and artwork with the community.

Throughout the night we will be hosting raffle giveaways, featuring prizes donated by participating vendors, activations, and the venue.

At VGA we wear the word Amateur like a badge of honor. Amateur comes from the Latin word amātor, meaning “to love,” and we believe in creating spaces where people can celebrate what they love while building community through play.
