Vice City Pillow Talk Live: Dating ... In This Economy?
About this Event
Dating in Miami was already complicated. Then everything got more expensive.
Who pays for the first date? (And now the Uber, too?)
Is grabbing coffee a low-stakes filter, or low effort?
Is the “provider” mindset a preference, a traditional gender role or a TikTok talking point?
And if your date picks up the check, does that come with expectations?
Women have more financial independence than ever, but plenty of old-school dating expectations are still hanging around. Men are getting mixed messages about whether they're still supposed to pursue, plan and pay.
Meanwhile, we're swiping endlessly, ghosting thoughtlessly and doomscrolling through hot takes about gold diggers, sugar daddies and age gaps.
But what do people actually think when we're sitting across from each other instead of behind a screen?
With all the time, money and vulnerability it takes to find someone you actually like, is dating even worth it anymore?
