ALUMNI ROUNDTABLE: BUILDING A SUCCESSFUL CONCEPT ARTIST CAREER

VFS Animation Concept Art alumni will join us for a roundtable where they’ll share exclusive industry insights & career tips, discuss their VFS student experience, and explain how VFS’s Animation Concept Art program helped them reach career success.

EXPERIENCE A DIGITAL PAINTING DEMO

Great concept art starts with great digital painting; see how it’s done through a live demo. Learn how Visual Development Artists use digital tools to build the kind of eye-catching images that bring worlds to life. From ideation to finished product, Daniella Selmi, Senior Instructor at VFS, will break down the process behind compelling concept art.

EXPERIENCE A CHARACTER DESIGN DEMO

Join a discussion with VFS Instructor Ted Wilson on character design, grounded in real experience and focused on what actually makes characters work in animation: strong silhouettes, clear shape language, and appeal. Q&A to follow.

EXPERIENCE A COSPLAY LIFE DRAWING DEMO

This isn't your average life drawing class! Come ready to draw from live cosplay models and capture some of the most dynamic, larger-than-life poses you've ever seen. Drawing paper and pencil will be provided.

MEET THE HEAD OF VFS’S SCHOOL OF ANIMATION

Meet Colin Giles – Animator, Director, and Head of VFS’s School of Animation – with credits including Sausage Party, Eight Crazy Nights, and commercial content for Cartoon Network, Ford, the NBA, and Starbucks. Discover how Colin has created award-winning curriculum for VFS’s School of Animation through production-based & collaborative training models.
