Vertical – Petit Manseng & TannatFriday, September 5th – 6:00 – 8:00
Join founder and winemaker Nate Walsh for a vertical tasting of two of our most interesting and unique grapes: Petit Manseng and Tannat. We’ll sample multiple vintages of each, tasting firsthand how these grapes express themselves over different vintages and vineyards, but by the same winegrowing approach. A deep dive for those who like to get geeky.
While both grapes originate in France, Petit Manseng and Tannat are unique in that they are widely-planted in Virginia and also very ageworthy. Because they possess great acidity and tannin, they develop in complexity, roundness, and aromatics over time, continuing to get more interesting and (to some) better. Nate is looking forward to pulling bottles from our library to showcase the past and present of these fascinating varietals, and to enjoy some fun wines.
This event is 21+. Seating will be limited to ensure a comfortable environment. Our kitchen will be open for those with the munchies.
