About this Event
Join us for the reopening of our gallery space at the French Library, featuring French painter Cécile Ganne, a distinctive voice in Boston’s contemporary art scene.
In this special exhibition The Landscape Within, Ganne presents a retrospective body of work bringing together abstract landscapes, still lifes, and a recent exploration of the human figure. Rooted in memory and sensation, her paintings draw from the Dordogne Valley in Southwest France, where she was born, and from her studio practice in Boston.
Working in oil and cold wax, Ganne creates contemplative paintings that capture fleeting moments, the space between seeing, feeling, and remembering. Her works do not describe a place but evoke its presence through layered textures, shifting light, and subtle color. Her still lifes and faceless figures bring a quieter, more intimate presence to the work
Conceived as an immersive experience, the exhibition invites viewers to slow down and engage with painting as a space of attention and reflection. Through her approach to art contemplation, Ganne offers a way of encountering art as a mindful and sensory experience.
All works will be available for purchase during the exhibition. For a price list or inquiries, please contact
