Commemorate the 172nd anniversary of the rendition of Anthony Burns at Faneuil Hall with the National park Service.
About this Event

In May of 1854 federal marshals arrested Anthony Burns under the 1850 Fugitive Slave Law. Immediately following Burns’ arrest, Bostonians gathered at Faneuil Hall on May 26th 1854 to discuss whether they would abide by this federal law or appeal to a higher law of freedom and liberty for all. The eyes of the nation were firmly fixed upon Boston.

Join the National Parks of Boston at the Great Hall in Faneuil Hall as we recreate this historic meeting on the 172nd anniversary. Rocking the Cradle is free and open to the public for all ages. The program begins at 5:30 PM. Pre-registration is highly encouraged.

The program is free, open to the public for all ages, and last 30-45 minutes.
