Whether you're inspired by dramatic ocean sunsets, peaceful harbor scenes, rolling hills, or local beaches, you'll create a one-of-a-kind painting while learning techniques you can use again and again.
In this step-by-step class, artist Jen Livia will guide you through essential acrylic painting skills, including creating vibrant, dynamic sunsets, capturing shimmering water reflections, building depth in your landscapes, and adding texture and atmosphere to bring your scene to life. Along the way, you'll learn blending, layering, composition, and color techniques that will help you paint with greater confidence.
Personalize your experience by bringing your own favorite Ventura landscape photo to paint, or choose from Jen's collection of original artwork for inspiration. Beginners are welcome, while experienced painters will enjoy the opportunity to develop their skills and create a meaningful coastal masterpiece.

If you’ve ever wanted to try acrylic painting but weren’t sure where to begin—or if you’ve dabbled and are looking for more direction—this class is for you. Each session features a different focus, along with a wide variety of sample paintings to spark inspiration. You’ll be encouraged to explore this fun and versatile medium while learning techniques that can be applied to any subject. Classes are tailored to the students attending, making them ideal for beginners as well as intermediate painters who want a more structured, in-depth approach to working with acrylics.
Please arrive 5 minutes early, class will start on time. All class reservations must be paid in advance and cannot be canceled or changed less than 72 hours prior to class. Sorry, no exceptions.
