Veg Growing - Young Adult Ranger Work Experience at Alexandra Park

Are you 16-25 years-old and looking for work experience in an environmental role, something to add to your CV, or a career change to a green job?

The Parks Foundation are delivering free sessions for young adults, teaching green skills in parks across Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole - no prior experience needed. With varied sessions available, develop a range of skills at our different events.

In this session, we will be covering how best to plant various fruit and vegetable species and learning different techniques to increase yield. You will develop an understanding of plant ecology and the importance of composting. Help look after community growing beds whilst learning how to become more self-sustainable. You will also conduct a butterfly survey around the park, as part of the UKBMS scheme.

Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy footwear.

This session is aimed at young people who must be able to attend and work independently. In some sessions we will be using tools and working with other members of the public, so the attendees will need to be responsible for themselves and their conduct whilst attending.
