Vail Mansion will have the annual Strawberry Festival June 6, from 9am-4pm. There will be music, vendors, entertainment, activities, food, vintage cars and URBAN SKETCHERS documenting the event!
The Victorian mansion is on the National Register of Historic Places. The city of Independence is considering selling the mansion to private buyers due to the high maintenance cost. Hopefully the property will still be open to the public, but that’s not a guarantee. So let’s sketch this beautiful mansion while we have the chance!
There will be lots of people so I suggest arriving early to find a place to park. From my sketch of the mansion, we will meet up on that side of the mansion. There will be numerous vendors scattered around, so the ‘exact spot’ for our throw down will be determined after I arrive.
