This class is an essential introduction to developing a home defense plan as well as using a handgun to protect yourself and your family during a home invasion. It focuses on the legalities of using deadly force, tactical considerations within your home, choosing a handgun and ammunition, interacting with law enforcement and much more!!! Classroom lecture is reinforced with live fire range drills. Students must have basic handgun shooting experience and be able to demonstrate appropriate handgun shooting and safety skills; this class is not a basic handgun class (contact the instructor with any questions regarding this pre-requisite).

The instructor for this class is Len Halascsak, a retired sergeant with the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office (Indiana), who has 25 years of experience training police officers and civilians in the use of deadly force, tactics and shooting. Students are encouraged to provide their own handguns; however, handguns can be provided to students if prior arrangements are made with the instructor.
