Urban Soils Conversation with Allegheny County Conservation District
About this Event
Community Conversation & Focus Group | Snacks & Drinks Provided, Children Welcome
For more than 10 years, the Allegheny County Conservation District (ACCD) has partnered with residents, community gardens, urban farmers, nonprofits, and neighborhood organizations to better understand the health of our soils and support community greening efforts across Allegheny County.
Thousands of soil samples have been collected through community partnerships, gardening programs, and technical assistance initiatives. Now, ACCD is taking the next step by exploring how this valuable information can be shared in ways that are useful, equitable, and beneficial for the communities who helped create it.
We invite you to join us for a community conversation about the future of Urban Soils data.
Date: Tuesday, August 14th, 2026
Time: Doors Open at 11:30a, Conversation from 12p- 1p
Your experiences, ideas, and concerns will help guide how ACCD shares information, develops future tools and resources, and continues supporting healthy neighborhoods, urban agriculture, and environmental stewardship throughout Allegheny County.
Whether you are an experienced gardener, community leader, resident, educator, nonprofit partner, or simply interested in environmental health and neighborhood greening, your perspective is important.
