Upcycled Fabric Patches
About this Event
Join artist Madison Laidlaw for a fun-filled craft night in your favorite local vintage spot, The Side Door Store. Let's customize your closet with a hand printed fabric patch made out of eco fabric scraps.
In this class you will learn how to design and carve a rubber stamp that we will be printing on fabric patches to jazz up whatever accessory or garment you desire.
Your ticket includes:
- carving/printing supplies
- artist demos of the printmaking process
- 4 fabric patches to print on
- one-on-one guidance to make your creative vision come to life.
Craft is community, so you and your classmates are encouraged to swap stamps to create a collection of original patches for all participants to take home. You can make 4 patches of your design or 1` patch of your own and 3 designs from your fellow crafters. Aside from having guided instruction, this class offers the opportunity to create something you would not be able to alone. (How wonderful is that?!)
You will leave this workshop with your hand printed patches, your carved stamp and the knowledge to keep on printing.
No art or craft experience required. Just come with an idea and your crafty enthusiasm.
